Breast cancer- Breast cancer is a disease in which malignant (cancer) cells form in the tissues of the breast. Each breast also has blood vessels and lymph vessels. The lymph vessels carry colourless fluid called lymph, which is produced by lymph nodes. Since the lymph nodes get infected with the cancer cells so they stop producing the fluid thus resulting in irregular body functions and ultimately spreading to the entire body.

Colon cancer is a term for cancer that starts in either the colon or the rectum. Colon cancer sometimes is treated differently from rectal cancer. People with a personal or family history of this cancer, or who have polyps in their colon or rectum, or those with inflammatory bowel disease are more likely to have colorectal cancer. Also, eating a diet mostly of high-fat foods (especially from animal sources), being overweight, smoking, and being inactive can make a person more likely to have this.

Preventive measures: The best preventive measures include seeing a doctor if one has a history of such cancer in the family and undergoing regular checkups. Avoid fatty food, being overweight, smoking and one must involve oneself in physical activities.


Lung cancer: it is the uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells that start off in one or both lungs; usually in the cells that line the air. Lung cancer causes more deaths in the United States than any other type of cancer. This is because lung cancer is most often diagnosed in the later stages. The primary reason of lung cancer is smoking.

Preventive measures: measures include regular checks with the doctor especially if one has lung or breathing problems. Avoid smoking; it is the biggest contributor to lung cancer.
